Lake District councils share customer contact
Two councils in the Lake District have completed a joint procurement for a supplier of a customer contact solution, aiming to give residents access to more services online.
South Lakeland and Eden have awarded a £1.27 million, seven-year deal to Meritec, which specialises in the provision of IT products and services. It involves replacing their CRM, development control, building control and land charges systems, along with web content management systems and delivering a website fully integrated with a CRM/citizen portal solution.
In addition, payment systems for the two councils will be integrated, and the new system will take in data from environmental health and revenues and benefits systems.
Stirling signs Midland HR
Stirling Council has signed a £957,000, five-year deal with Midland HR for an integrated HR and payroll system as part of its modernisation of corporate services. There are options to extend the contract for up to another five years.
Among the features specified in the tender document are extensive self-service functionality, electronic forms, workflow options, remote access, a business intelligence function and integration with other corporate software. The council is aiming to implement the core modules by the end of February 2017.
New G-Cloud numbers hit new high
The number of suppliers on the new iteration of the G-Cloud has hit a new high of 2,726, according to the Digital Marketplace team. It said that 757 firms have joined for G-Cloud 8, of which 94% are SMEs, and that the overall proportion of small and medium sized companies is now 90%.
Northgate teams with FotoWare and Media Logix
Northgate Public Services has produced an end-to-end digital evidence solution working with media specialists FotoWare and Media Logix. It said the solution, named Connect Digital Assets, covers the entire period from the initial investigation through to sentencing.
It is geared to support the Digital Case File initiative and others from the Home Office and Ministry of Justice, and to work in different operational policing systems. It includes an index and search function that enables it to simultaneously access evidence based in different digital silos.
In addition, it can incorporate evidence on cybercrime, and that captured by the public on smartphones and shared online via social media or directly with the police.
