The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has launched the 13th iteration of its G-Cloud procurement framework for cloud services for the public sector.
It includes 5,006 suppliers, of which over 90% are SMEs, of over 40,000 services, and a new fourth lot for cloud support services – joining those for cloud hosting, software and support – for larger, more complex requirements.
In addition, the call-off term across the agreement has been extended to 36 months with an optional 12-month extension, and the channel will be available through a new digital Contract Award Service platform.
CCS said this will support future iterations of G-Cloud in an agile manner and eventually digitally enable all agreements across its portfolio. It plans to continue iterating the platform and add functions over the coming months.
The G-Cloud 13 launch comes two months after it was originally scheduled to take place, with the delay caused by a need for further user testing.
Improved terms
Philip Orumwnse, commercial director and chief procurement officer for technology at CCS, said: “G-Cloud has been a huge success and is popular due to the high SME inclusion and the ease with which services can be bought by customers.
“The latest iteration of the agreement will offer improved terms and conditions for customers, a wider range of competition across cloud professional support services and access to increased innovation and ideas, using state of the art technologies.”
