The Welsh Government is planning to launch a new digital platform to support its Childcare Offer.
It said the service will replace the different systems currently used by local authorities in Wales to process applications and pay providers, under the service through which parents in education and training can receive up to 30 hours of government funded education and childcare for three- and four-year-olds.
The new digital service will become available to the public in English and Welsh languages from January and will be accessible on mobile devices.
Parents already accessing the Childcare Offer will remain on their local authority systems, but if they wish to receive funding for another child they will apply through the new national service.
Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan said: “Our ground breaking Childcare Offer is making a real difference to parents right across Wales, and we continually look for ways we can expand or improve our offer.
“I’m delighted to announce the launch of our new Childcare Offer digital service. Having a single, national system will ensure a simple, streamlined service for both parents and childcare providers across Wales.”
