The Cyber Security Information Sharing Partnership (CiSP) is set to move to a cloud platform run by Amazon Web Services (AWS) over the coming weekend.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which runs the platform, has confirmed the move, warning that there will be some downtime as the migration takes place but that the platform should be fully functional on Monday 20 January.
CiSP is a joint industry and government initiative for the secure exchange of cyber threat information in real time. It has been promoted as an important element in preserving cyber security for public and private sector organisations.
NCSC indicated that the move to an AWS platform will reduce the running costs and provide better scalability and security for CiSP.
Little change
It said that very little will change on the platform and that the existing URL will remain the same, but there will be some changes to the log-in page and URLs used in the process.
Originally the migration - which is likely to boost the security credentials of AWS in the public sector - was set to take place before the end of last year but was delayed “to maintain the stability” of CiSP. NCSC has also had to suspend applications to join the platform until closer to the end of the month.
In its 2019 annual review, the organisation said that CiSP had 15,571 registered members from an estimated 5,500 organisations.
