The new National Data Strategy aims to position the UK as a global champion of data, says Gaia Marcus, head of the strategy at Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
The strategy identifies five priority areas to ensure the use of data is more secure, innovative and more widely recognised 'as a force for good' and she describes its background, aims and challenges.
She was speaking at UKAuthority's Data4Good event which explored how the public sector has harnessed data in the Covid response; and what together this means for data sharing across the public sector in our 'new normal'.
