The National Audit Office (NAO) has carried out a major redesign of its website.
It said has made the move to help people access details of its announcements and resources more easily, and for those delivering public services to understand and apply the lessons from its work.
The NAO said it has sought input from users at each stage of the redevelopment, retaining important features such as clear report landing pages and showing what work it has in progress, while improving search and navigation functions.
It said it has brought in clearer signposting and labelling of its publications, made it possible to browse by a new set of topics and given more prominence to its insights work.
In addition, it has created a dedicated section for MPs and peers to access its support and developed a new contact form.
The visual design has been focused on making navigation more intuitive and ensuring the website works as well on a mobile as on desktop.
Major step
Head of the NAO Gareth Davies said: “This launch marks a major step in the redevelopment of our website. However, what you see now is not the final product.
“We are following best practice in website design by launching something that we can continue to improve based upon user interactions and feedback. This will allow us to focus future changes where they are most useful to you.”
He also invited feedback from users of the site.
