The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has committed to a spend of at least £23.8 million with AWS for cloud compute and ancillary services.
It has used a call-off agreement on G-Cloud 12 for a service contract to run from 1 May this year until the end of April 2024, and for which the value could go as high as £50 million.
The deal marks the latest in a series of major deals for AWS with central government, following recent news of contracts with HM Revenue and Customs, the Home Office and the Department for Work and Pensions, and its agreement with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) for preferential pricing for the public sector.
It has taken place under the One Government Value Agreement with CCS, which includes training for civil servants in cloud computing.
