MoJ retains Interventions Manager software for offender rehabilitation

06/09/21

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has extended its contract for the Probation Service to use Interventions Manager software for another year.

It has prolonged the deal originally agreed in 2015 with supplier NEC Software Solutions to make the system available for more than 1,000 probation officers in England and Wales.

The software was designed to support Offender Behaviour Programme (OBP) interventions and integrates with the MoJ’s in-house systems such as nDelius for managing offender records.

It includes functions for creating schedules of OBPs, enrolling offenders, tracking and progress for each session, creating post-programme reports and managing the waiting list.

The system is also used to manage interventions run by organisations outside the justice system such as organisations and charities.

The extension comes after the MoJ signed a contract in 2019 with NEC to use its Media Manager recording software in OBPs, which is now being rolled out to all probation and prison sites that run the programmes.
