The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has signed management consultancy Baringa Partners to support its development of back office services based on a cloud based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
It has agreed on a one-year, £18.3 million contract with the company, beginning last week, as delivery partner for ministry's work within the Synergy Programme.
According to the award notice, it will involve the provision of services for ERP development, technical analysis and project management.
The Synergy Programme also involves the Department for Work and Pensions, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Home Office, and is part of the Government’s wider Shared Services Strategy for back office services such as HR, finance, procurement and payroll.
Last year DWP, as lead department in the programme, selected Oracle Cloud as the core ERP for the programme.
Alignment with strategy
Among Baringa Partners’ responsibilities will be to work with the MoJ to ensure alignment of Synergy with the strategy, and to help the MoJ gain maximum benefit from the new ERP. This will include working with its arm’s length bodies.
The work will involve ensuring the MoJ has the right governance and working practices in place, developing delivery plans, drawing on knowledge of other cloud based ERP implementations, and providing guidance on key roles and capabilities.
