Sopra Steria has said it will use its new estates management platform as part of a deal to support the national accommodation contract for the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
The digital services provider has been signed to work with community services provider Pinnacle Group in supporting families selecting and moving in and out of MoD housing.
It will involve the creation of a central repository of information on all 49,000 properties for service families.
Regional accommodation management providers will move housing and maintenance management along with contact centre services onto the Sopra Steria platform.
The move will also involve integrating data from third party maintenance providers and Shared Services Connected Limited, the joint venture between the company and the Cabinet Office that provides business support services.
Sopra Steria said it will enable families to report any issues through channels including phone, email, chat, social media or an app, and to track service requests and find relevant information. The platform will also provide managers with a single view of occupants’ requests.

Air Commodore James Saving, head of accommodation for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), said: “Accommodation is such an important part of family life for servicemen and women, which is why we collaborated closely with representatives of our service personnel and their families to develop these contracts and ensure that their needs are fully considered.
“These new contracts offer the opportunity to break decisively from the past and to build on the commitments made by all suppliers to innovate and deliver more responsive and flexible services to the armed forces and their families.”
This is Sopra Steria’s second estates management contract with the DIO. It is currently supporting the delivery of a single living accommodation management information system.
