The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is developing plans to spend around £300 million a year on digital and ICT expertise through a new framework deal.
If it goes ahead the IT Professional Services Flexible Delivery Partner Framework, or FDPF, will last for between three to five years from mid-2020, giving it a total value of between £900 million and £1.5 billion, the MoD said in a prior information notice. The framework is described as “covering all D&IT capability and expertise required to deliver MoD digital IT programs and transformation” during that period.
FDPF would include several lots each with a number of suppliers, although the MoD expects that some suppliers would win positions in more than one lot, estimating there will be six to nine strategic development partners in total.
The MoD is looking to suppliers to help it define the structure of the framework. To this end it is holding two meetings at a TechUK event in London on the morning of 6 November. “This planned procurement provides a unique opportunity for suppliers across the spectrum to work in partnership with MoD over the next three to five years to support the delivery of future IT platforms and digital services,” the trade organisation said.
TechUK and the MoD are allowing only two delegates from each company, to allow the maximum number of organisations to attend.
