The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has set up a new team to work on new the rapid development of digital products and services.
Named the Defence Digital Service (DDS), it initially has three members – Elliott Wilkes, Rich Crowther and Iain Baars-Gordon (pictured) – and is aiming to provide the MoD with tactical and strategic advantages by responding to user needs in the office and the battlespace.
It will work on a pathfinder projects, case studies and exemplars in areas where it thinks the effort will provide benefits across defence. Projects will also include a senior executive sponsor to act as an advocate and help to overcome any roadblocks.
DDS said it will work in the open as much as possible, publishing details of its progress, and that it is already working on its first – unnamed – discovery project.
