Two hospital trusts in the East Midlands have agreed on a long term contract for the use of an electronic patient record (EPR) platform.
The NHS foundation trusts for Chesterfield Royal Hospital and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton have reached an agreement worth up to £65 million with solutions integrator Insight Direct, which according to the contract award notice will subcontract to Nervecentre Software.
The trusts join three others in the region – University Hospitals of Leicester, Northampton General Hospital and Nottingham University Hospital – in using the Nervecentre EPR platform.
The contracts will run for 10 years with an initial value of £48 million and options to extend for five more to hit £65 million, having begun in mid April.
The company has promoted the platform as encouraging collaboration between participating hospital trusts while maintaining a localised autonomy in records sharing.
