The Met Office has signed data and technology services firm Made Tech in a two-year, £7 million deal as its digital services partner.
The company said it will support the organisation in delivering digital, data and technology solutions for problem solving and expand its public facing digital services.
This will include further developing the Met Office website for desktop and mobile use, along with mobile apps, working with mobile innovation company Calvium. Made Tech will also provide design and research to develop the user interfaces.
Chris Frost, head of digital services at the Met Office, said the company’s proposal aligned with its own vision.
The organisation included Made Tech among 32 companies named last year when it created a procurement framework for delivery partnerships. This was estimated to be worth up to £30 million over four years.
