Merton Council has begun to use the FixMyStreet Pro service for the reporting of environmental issues.

Developed by SocietyWorks, the subsidiary of civic technology charity mySociety, the service is focused on making it easy to report issues such as fly tipping and graffiti.

Merton has become one of several local authorities in London to use FixMyStreet Pro, which it is integrating into its Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM system.

Councillor Natasha Irons, its cabinet member for local environment and green spaces, said: “Merton is a great place to live, work and visit but, like all London boroughs, we’re seeing too many people abusing our public spaces with environmental crimes like fly tipping and littering.

“We want everyone to take care and pride in their neighbourhoods and behave considerately, so that everyone can enjoy our great borough. FixMyStreet is an extremely user-friendly platform, and it will make it even easier for our residents to play their part.”
