A consortium of NHS trusts mainly based in London has entered a partnership aimed at boosting the use of AI in radiology.

The AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare (AI4VBH) – Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College and other NHS trusts and universities – has reached an agreement with deepc, a specialist in AI for clinical purposes.

The collaboration will involve the company deploying its deepcOS platform at six trusts – Guys’ and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, Lewisham and Greenwich, Imperial College Healthcare, University Hospitals Sussex and East Kent Hospitals – with plans to extend to others.

It will also involve deepc and AI4VBH work on deploying innovations in clinical settings.

Lawrence Tallon, deputy chief executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’, said: “This partnership will enable us to speed up the development of our AI accelerated learning initiatives. We look forward to working more closely together to realise the benefits of AI in clinical practice for patients across the NHS.”
