The Greater London Authority has launched a challenge for potential applications of data science in assessing development proposals in the city.
Its chief digital officer Theo Blackwell has posted on LinkedIn that the competition is open to specialists in the field, along with AI and planning, to come up with methodologies for calculating the likelihood of applications making their way through the planning process successfully.
He said this will produce a better sense of growth areas in London.
The online entry page for the challenge says that 10 finalists will receive £500 each to take part in a hackathon, with guidance from subject matter experts and workshops, and that an additional £3,500 will be provided in awards for best ideas and collaborations.
