The Local Digital Collaboration Unit in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has provided a new round of funding totalling £2.37 million for eight local government digital projects.
It has allocated the money in the latest round of its Continuous Funding Model, which applies to projects that previously received support from the programme.
It has provided full details of the projects, all of which are led by local authorities and aimed at maintaining the momentum of existing work.
This follows the award of £3.59 million to 15 projects in early 2021.
The newly funded projects are:
- a housing repairs service (receiving £350,000), led by City of Lincoln Council, aimed at producing a common API to integrate user facing applications with appointment scheduling software;
- a digital inclusion toolkit (£205,000 - Leeds and Croydon), to produce a comprehensive playbook on local projects;
- Open Referral UK, on common data standards for community based services (£350,000 - Adur and Worthing, Essex, Leeds);
- Scalable Approach to Vulnerability via Interoperability (SAVVI – £144,000 - Tameside and Sedgeemoor), to produce national data standards to support vulnerable people and households;
- Children’s Social Care Demand (£224,000 - Greater Manchester Combined Authority and East Sussex County Council), to anticipate the wave of demand to help vulnerable children and families emerging from the pandemic lockdown;
- Quality Data for Children in Care (£250,000 - Wigan, Greater Manchester, Manchester, Stockport, Milton Keynes, Isle of Wight, West Berkshire, East Sussex, Buckinghamshire, Bracknell Forest and the Department for Education), building a web based tool for analysts to support work on improving the quality of care;
- Future Work Design (£186,000 - East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire) producing a research report, risk assessment tool and guidance on dealing with the effects on council staff of remote working;
- and building family context in children’s services (3350,000 - Stockport, Leeds, Manchester City Council).
