Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) has implemented Civica Scheduling cloud software to support its patient services

The deployment took place in late December, aimed at enabling the services to run more smoothly through the winter.

Around 150 staff in the trust’s urgent community response, home visiting and discharge to assess teams have begun to use the platform in place of manual processes. It matches patient needs with the clinical care available.

Civica said the software includes intelligent scheduling and makes it possible to automate caseloads based on specific rules such as clinical skill, patient need, location and visit duration.

Among the expected benefits are to enable LCHS to show how responsive its services are, and meet environmental goals through more efficient route planning and reduced mileage for staff visiting patients.

Its deputy divisional lead for integrated urgent and emergency care, Liana Arnold, said: “Civica’s intelligent scheduling platform will help with providing the best out of hospital care we possibly can and avoiding admissions into acute hospitals as the NHS faces unprecedented pressure this winter.”
