Educational not-for-profit tech provider LGfL and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have launched an audit of the state of cyber security in UK schools.
They have set up an online survey and said they plan to announce the results in the early summer.
LGfL said the information gathered through the audit will be used to shape national policy and feed into training and the future provision of technology, with an emphasis on multi-agency solutions.
Mark Bentley, safeguarding and cyber security manager at LGfL, said: “It is clear that as technology continues to strengthen teaching and learning in schools, the threats which come from being increasingly online are also growing.
“This audit presents us with an unprecedented opportunity to gain insight into the current state of cyber security in UK schools, which in turn will help us to develop solutions and practices that enable schools to better protect their online assets.”
The exercise reflects the LGfL CyberCloud programme, which is aimed at providing a holistic approach to keeping schools secure.
