HM Land Registry has said it plans to publish its local land charges (LLC) INSPIRE dataset monthly from now on.
The dataset, which shows the indicative geographical locations of local land charges in England and Wales to which the INSPIRE directive applies, is being made available free of charge under the Open Government Licence and searched for using a unique identification number called an INSPIRE ID.
Land Registry said the data will be published on its Use land and property data service as a GML file. A geographic information system is needed to download the polygons and store and edit the data.
It will be updated on the sixth day of each month, and local authorities that have transferred their LLC service to the Land Registry’s national register will automatically have their data published.
The INSPIRE directive places a legal obligation on public authorities to publish particular datasets according to defined standards.
