Kirklees Council is introducing a mobile app for residents to report noise disturbances.

It said this has come in response to an annual increase in noise complaints during the summer, and the difficulties its night time noise service team have had in quickly responding to complaints.

The council said the Noise App will make it possible to record sound on their phone and send it to the pollution and noise control team.

It will be free to download from the noise page on Kirklees’ website.

The council said it hopes the app will provide a simpler and more streamlined process for investigating complaints.
