A new version of Kent County Council’s procurement framework for software products and associated services has gone live.
While contracted by the council it is available to other public sector organisations, with the potential to account for up to £500 million of business over its four-year lifespan.
It replaces the recently expired framework with a number of minor changes related to the software industry and features such as the General Data Protection Regulation.
According to the contract award notice, 10 companies have won places: Bytes Software Services, Capita Business Services, CDW, Civica, Insight Direct, Phoenix Software, Softcat, Software Box, SoftwareONE and Trustmarque Solutions.
The contract takes in a range of software categories, including enterprise and business applications, accounting systems, school information management systems, recovery and data back-up software, virtualisation and bespoke software solutions. Associated services include service desk, integration, project management and training.
Kent has indicated that several other local authorities in the south of England and Midlands have expressed an interest in using the framework, along with Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
