Islington Council has reached a seven-year agreement with TechnologyOne to use the company’s Financials software for local government.

Deployment is now underway after the contract was signed last month and makes the council the first in London to implement software.

The company said it will enable the council to manage all financial information and business processes through a single solution, automate existing manual processes to reduce the chances of manual error and give staff more time for other asks, and provide a capability for pulling up real time data and information to support decision making.

Islington’s executive member for finance and performance, Cllr Diarmaid Ward, said: “This new system will allow us to operate more efficiently, improve our services, and make sure public funds are spent where they’re needed most – helping us to create a more equal Islington. By investing in modern, innovative technology, we’re securing long-term benefits for our residents and staff alike.”
