The Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre (IPEC) has put out a call for public sector bodies to enter for an award on new approaches to procurement.
It has partnered with Startup Ecosystem Stars (SES) to present a Public Sector Special Award at the SES 2024 Awards scheduled for 6 December in Paris.
IPEC, which works within the Connected Places Catapult, said it is seeking innovators in the public sector who have led initiatives in areas including: application of design thinking principles to shape challenges; market scouting to bring in diverse suppliers; exploring new procurement ideas; and implement effective change management techniques to scale good ideas.
It added that suppliers are also welcome to submit nominations through this link (the deadline for nominations is 31 July).
Better, cheaper, quicker
Rikesh Shar, head of IPEC, said: “Procurement fuels public sector innovation worldwide. We are seeing brilliant case studies from across the world on how the public sector is bringing in market innovation to deliver better, cheaper and quicker outcomes.
“IPEC champions this progress, encouraging nominations for outstanding achievements. Our special award aims to institutionalise innovation, foster collaboration between private and public sectors and start ups, and honour best practices, driving continuous advancement across the public sector.”
The SES Awards are co-organised by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the global open innovation platform Mind the Bridge, in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Commission, and with support from Microsoft.
