Hyde Group housing association has begun a two-year pilot using software to track and manage fire safety equipment in 530 of its homes across London.
It is using an Evident fire safety asset management system in four apartment blocks and one sheltered housing property.
The company has already tagged and logged every piece of fire safety equipment in each of the buildings for monitoring by its Landlord software.
This will provide Hyde Group with a real time dashboard on the equipment, taking in audits, service reports and end-of-life data to ensure it is all fit for purpose and regularly maintained. It should also help to identify any areas without adequate protections.
Liz Oliver, director of compliance at The Hyde Group, said: “Our work with Evident now makes it fundamentally easier for us to reduce the risk of fire in our buildings and provide these residents with peace of mind.
“The software makes it easy for us to check the status of all our safety equipment and enables us to act far in advance of items requiring servicing and end-of-life replacement.”
