Director at Socitm Advisory, Mark Adams-Wright, says the majority of local authorities are on now well on the journey to cloud – and frames the timing of this journey in to the perspective of ‘how a council is operating’.
There are clearly many important benefits from cloud, but he believes that councils must focus on desired outcomes and work out their own rhythm and pace for the migration. Handling sensitive data and a legacy estate will inevitably, he believes, require a pragmatic, hybrid approach to modernisation.
