Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has agreed a seven-year contract with NEC Software Solutions for the use of a hosted command, control and integrated communication system.

It will be hosted in NEC data centres and accessible from the fire service’s control rooms, and include a live video streaming facility and mobile application.

NEC said it will provide Humberside Fire and Rescue with its Vision and DS3000 Control Room solution and support improved collaboration with other fire services that use the same technology.

The system is scheduled to be fully rolled out by early 2026.

Major milestone

Phil Shillito, chief fire officer at the service, said: "This is a major milestone in advancing our control room capabilities, ensuring that we remain at the cutting edge of fire control technology. The commitment and dedication of colleagues has been instrumental in reaching this stage.

“We are excited to see the positive impact these new features, like 999Eye and the Mobilising App, will have on both our communities and our staff."
