Hounslow Council has signed a deal with Servelec to use its Synergy education management system.

Work has begun on the implementation, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2021 and is aimed at supporting the council’s Digital Strategy 2020-2025.

It will enable information sharing across systems, departments, providers and with other local authorities, and enable childcare providers and schools to interact with the council.

Councillor Pritam Grewal, cabinet member for customers services and corporate performance, said: “As part of our Digital Strategy, we’re undergoing a complete digital service redesign, rather than simply replacing like for like. We’re making sure that our customers’ journey with us is easy and straightforward.

“In partnership with Servelec, we’ll now be able engage with our customers throughout the implementation. Once the system is fully in place, our teams will see the time they spend on admin reduce dramatically, as information only needs to be added once. We aim to have one coherent system and we’re working in partnership with Servelec to achieve that.”

Hounslow’s digital strategy is based on four pillars – staff and workforce, services and customers, place and community, and collaboration and data – with a digital service design approach to be clear on outcomes for the community.
