The Home Office is planning to set up a specialised cyber security team for the National Law Enforcement Data Programme.
It is aiming to provide a cyber security wrap around the relevant applications and services hosted in the cloud.
The programme is aimed at spreading joined up information around the law enforcement community and involves the replacement of the Police National Computer and Police National Database with a new Law Enforcement Data Service.
The Home Office has published a procurement notice for a team to manage the day-to-day cyber security activities to support the programme, working with its police and public protection technology directorate.
It will work with the department’s cyber security operations centre and portfolio platform and service teams, under a two-year contract valued at around £3 million.
Among the responsibilities will be implementing improvements in cyber security operations, carrying out threat vulnerability analysis and prioritisation, and responding to incidents.
