Procurement plan to integrate collection of functions under Metis solution
The Home Office is looking to replace its ERP, CRM, human capital management, business intelligence and payroll systems with a new integrated, cloud based solution under the title of Metis.
It has launched a procurement process with an indication that the contract will be set to run from June for 18 months at a value of £2 million – an indication that it is following the Government’s line of aiming for short term deals making use of commoditised platforms.
The deal will be broken into three lots: systems integrator to act as the prime supplier, functional configuration and technical integration. The department also plans to set up a service management lot but says it is not planning a relevant procurement in the near to medium term.
It is also planning to draw on G-Cloud in making the procurement.
The document says the department is committed to cross-government alignment of back office services, and that the configuration of the new system will be required to support shared Civil Service outcomes.
It expects the new solution to be used by about 29,000 staff, including those in the shared services centre in Newport.
