The Home Office has agreed on a new contract with AWS for public cloud hosting services with a value of £450 million.
The agreement is set to run for three years from today and has been called from the G-Cloud 13 framework agreement, according to the contract award notice.
Although no details of the services have been published, the precise value - £450,281,369 – suggests they have already been worked out and that the company’s cloud platforms will support the major share of the department’s digital operations.
It is the latest in series of agreements between the Home Office and AWS. Three years ago they reached one valued at £120 million that would be expiring around now,
It also reinforces the company’s position as a major provider of cloud services to central government. In recent years it has signed major contracts with the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs.
