HM Revenue and Customs (HRMC) has published details of two major IT contracts – with Capgemini and Accenture – to support its operations with a combined value of £285 million.
They come as part of a series of recent deals to support its digital operations.
The contract with Capgemini covers core platform support and maintenance services, and is set to run for five years beginning from last week with a value of almost £215 million.
It covers business-critical legacy applications, along with options to provide decommissioning and application modernisation services where relevant.
“The purpose is either to decommission services during the initial term of this contract or prepare enduring applications and services to go to market in future,” the document says.
The agreement comes soon after HMRC signed Capgemini in a £50.9 million deal to continue its role in managing the Enterprise Tax Management Platform.
Services for NPS
The new deal with Accenture covers operations, maintenance and modernisation services for the National Insurance and PAYE System (NPS). It is value at £70.4 million and is also set to run for five years.
According to the contract notice, the company will provide business application support and maintenance for the NPS, and there are options for application development and enhancement services.
“The intent of the modernisation service is to disaggregate the NPS solution into a number of components in preparation for going to market in the future,” the document says.
Since the turn of the year, HMRC has also signed major deals with Atos for application testing services, and Equal Experts and Cognizant Worldwide to support elements of its Data Provisioning Service.
