HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has signed CGI IT UK in a two-year deal to provide IT strategy and architecture services.
The company is set to partner with the department on future projects and programmes as required, with the maximum value of the arrangement set at £35 million.
The contract notice says the procurement has been developed to provide a business partner for the delivery of new technology working with HMRC’s Chief Technology and Design Office.
“The procurement will include a broad range of project deliverables through statements of work across a number of skill areas,” it says.
This opens the way for the company to play a significant role in the programmes such as Making Tax Digital.
The deal is the latest in a series of big money ICT contracts agreed by HMRC, including with Fujitsu Services for managed desktop services, Capgemini for platform support and maintenance, Accenture for modernisation services for the National Insurance and PAYE System and Atos UK for application testing.
It emerged as one of the winners for ICT investment in last year’s Spending Review, with the allocation of £277 million for relevant services.
