Helping the NHS and care organisations with cyber resilience

Andy Haywood, senior project manager - Data Security Centre, NHS Digital, outlines the organisation's role as a trusted advisor for the NHS on all things cyber

NHS Digital provides central support, guidance and remediation via CARECERT. Moving forward they also have a custom support agreement with Microsoft, open to help all health and care organisations in England, which provides custom support for medical devices and other systems that are 'out of support'. 

Wannacry, says Haywood, showed that a cyber attack has real impact, but it also raised the profile that cyber is a risk management exercise to ensure that you can respond and keep vital public services operating.
