The team behind Hackney’s Covid-19 online support map have won the funding to develop it into a long term resource for the area.

The City and Hackney Integrated Care System has been awarded £80,000 by the enabling board and appointed Nudge Digital to work with the HackIT team to make Find Support Services a ‘business as usual’ product for local support services by October.

From that point it will fund a part time project officer to maintain the relationships with organisations providing information to the service, and to help smaller bodies develop their online profiles using Hackney Council’s Create a Digital Presence tool and to create content.

The service was initially launched in March in response to the pandemic, providing an online map of voluntary and support services in the area. In the following weeks it was placed on the websites of the Hackney CVS, City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group and Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust, and new features added.

Meg Dibb-Fuller, digital product lead for City and Hackney Integrated Care System, said: “Our vision remains the same; it will hold and display data on voluntary and community organisations that provide services, activities and support for Hackney and City of London residents.

“Our vision is for it to accurately represent what is available to help our diverse communities. There's a lot out there with over 1,500 organisations.”
