Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has signed a 10-year, £3 million contract with Civica to use its Cito enterprise document and content management (EDCM) system.
The deployment will take place as part of the trust’s Apollo digital transformation programme, which centres around Epic Systems’ electronic health records.
Civica said it will be one of the largest cloud EDCM deployments in the health service and lead to a rationalisation of systems for an increased integration of care. It will be integrated with the Epic EHR, which is scheduled to go live in April 2023, to provide a real time, single view of each patient’s electronic documents.
Steve Brain, executive director, health and care at Civica said: “Combined with Epic, Cito will support the provision of effective clinical pathways with assured decisions and operational efficiencies, helping to deliver high quality care at Guy's and St Thomas.”
Guy's and St Thomas’ is one of the UK’s largest NHS foundation trusts, providing a range of hospital and community services in south London. In 2019-20 it handled 2.6 million patient contacts, including 95,000 inpatient encounters and 1.44 million outpatients’ appointments.
