The Government has created a community for users of low code technology in the Civil Service.
It has outlined the role of the community in the updated version of the Government Service Manual, making it one of 25 communities of practice in the digital and data space.
It says the community is open to people in departments and agencies and is intended to be a key stakeholder in the development and implementation of a low code strategy.
The move reflects the increasing use of low code technology in public service organisations. It makes it possible to configure software in designing services without the need for in-depth coding skills.
Collaborative environment
The document states: “The low code community exists to foster a collaborative environment where members can share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions related to low code applications development and platforms.
“Through meetings, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions, this community focuses on building a supportive network that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and the effective use of low code platforms to solve real world challenges.
“This community strives to empower individuals and organisations to leverage low code technologies to accelerate digital transformation, enhance productivity, and enhance public sector delivery.”
Other communities of practice issued in the service manual include those for AI, data and AI ethics, digital buying, technical cloud and web operations.
