The UK Government is making plans to develop a Government Skills Campus digital platform.
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has published a prior information notice of its intent to find a contractor to help develop the platform, saying it will enable civil servants to records their skills, experience and learning in one place.
It will also provide them with personalised learning recommendations and development opportunities.
The platform will be integrated with enterprise resource planning systems and existing cross-government platforms to provide a single source of relevant data.
CCS has estimated the value of the development at around £7 million and said the procurement, which will be run through the CCS Learning and Training Services Dynamic Procurement System – is planned for next month.
Access and visibility
“The Government Skills Campus will be a single platform that provides better access and visibility to the learning curriculum by using skills data to intelligently drive content to users and provide cross-government, departmental and profession wide skills data to inform workforce planning and management,” the notice says.
It will draw on the work of the Government Skills and Curriculum Unit, which was created in 2020 as part of Civil Service HR in the Cabinet Office.
