Social change charity Good Things Foundation has announced a partnership with Capita to share best practice in reducing the digital divide.
They said it will involve developing a new model for achieving digital inclusion at scale across different areas of England, with a focus on helping people build essential digital skills.
They will work with combined authorities and regional bodies to create strategies and implementation plans to help disadvantaged people access technology.
Good Things Foundation said it has good working relationships in the field with the combined authorities for Greater Manchester, the West Midlands and the North East, and will share their best practice with others.
Along with Capita, which provides its experience in local government delivery and marketing, it aims to engage with as many combined authorities as possible over the coming months.
Helen Milner (pictured), group chief executive of Good Things Foundation, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Capita and our hyperlocal partners in the Online Centres Network to develop a coherent model for achieving digital inclusion, at scale, across different areas of England.
“The fact that millions of people are being locked out of opportunity, and face isolation, due to the digital divide is not OK. This exciting partnership is an important part of our work to achieve a 100% digitally included nation and ensure everyone can benefit and have opportunities in an increasingly digital world.”
