The Good Things Foundation has launched a map and directory of digital inclusion services around the UK.
Named the National Digital Inclusion Network, it provides a guide to active hubs and local databanks – the latter providing free data connectivity to people in need.
Good Things also revealed plans for a National Device Bank to provide refurbished devices to people who struggle to afford them, along with data from the databank.
The foundation’s CEO, Helen Milner, said that both measures reflect the ambition of its strategy that by 2025 everyone will have somewhere local to go to get help using the internet.
Access support
She commented: “The launch of this map makes sure people can identify and access the support near them so that more people can experience the benefits of the online world.
“This help is so critical as the cost-of-living crisis keeps biting hard and more people need digital inclusion support – particularly with affording internet access.”
Milner added that Good Things has also recently launched a new version of its Learn My Way free platform for digital learning.
