The Geospatial Commission has indicated that it plans to publish the National Geospatial Strategy next week.
The organisation has invited people to join an online event at which it will be introducing the strategy at 4.15 pm on Tuesday 16 June.
Cabinet Office Minister Lord True (pictured) will outline the main points, along with the commission's chair Sir Andrew Dilnot and director Thalia Baldwin.
The strategy has been devised to map out the future of location data in the UK, with the aim of improving the use of geospatial assets and encouraging innovation in the sector.
The geospatial technology sector has been estimated to be worth around $300 billion worldwide, and the data is proving to be increasing valuable in public services.
It is possible to register for the event through this link.
