The Government Digital Service (GDS) has signed consultancy dxw (the Dextrous Web) as capability delivery partner for the GOV.UK Publishing Service.
They agreed on a one-year contract, which came into effect at the start of this month, valued at £7.65 million for the company to work with the organisation on providing tools to support government bodies publishing on the GOV.UK website, and reducing the duplication of data and other technical debt in the platform.
The GOV.UK Publishing Service provides and supports services for publishing and managing content on the website, and now provides nine applications used by over 2,000 publishers for over 100 different types of document.
Making it easy
The GDS contract notice says: “Our objectives for the next two to three years are to continue with our vision to make it easy for our users to connect, organise, and publish effective government information.”
It adds that the delivery partners will work with it on user centred design and meeting accessibility needs in creating tools. The partners will also contribute to spreading relevant skills among civil servants.
This is the second contract dxw has won as a delivery partner with GDS. Late last year it was signed on a five-year £2 million deal for a similar role in the development of the Government Data Exchange.
