
The Government Digital Service (GDS) has signed new contracts with two core partners in delivering the GOV.UK platform.
It has awarded one-year deals to Thoughtworks and The Dextrous Web (dxw), both coming into effect at the beginning of this month and valued at £2.5 million each.
The companies have the roles of capability delivery partners for the GOV.UK Publishing Service, which provides and supports services used to publish and manage content on GOV.UK. The teams build and maintain a suite of publishing tools and the underly platform.
The notice states: “The delivery partners will work with GDS with user centred design at the heart of our decision making, to ensure we create the best tools for internal and external users. The work on these systems will help make sure we are meeting accessibility needs.
“Our delivery partners will contribute to upskilling our civil servant staff, through knowledge sharing, pair programming and shadowing.”
Both companies have been in equivalent roles under earlier contracts.
