The Government Digital Service (GDS) has released a new version of the GOV.UK prototype kit for the development of new online services.
It said that version 13 makes it easier for users to create and update prototypes using JTML, CSS and JavaScript running in standard browsers.
New features include a simplified installation and update process, and a section for creating new prototypes and making changes to existing ones.
“This means you can use the prototypes you build to do realistic testing with users, on their own devices, and using any assistive technology such as screen readers,” GDS product manager Ruth Hammond said in a blogpost. “In short, it makes it easier for departments to build better digital services.”
She said GDS is also making it easier to customise the kit with their own style guides through plug-ins.
