The GDS Academy run by the Government Digital Service is scheduled to close by the end of November.

Its website has indicated that it will stop delivering courses from the 25th of the month and directed civil servants towards Civil Service Learning for alternatives.

A spokesperson for the Cabinet Office, within which GDS operates, said: “Last year we launched a new training campus, enabling civil servants to develop their knowledge through a single curriculum.

"The Government Skills and Curriculum Unit offers civil servants the chance to build on their expertise and enhance their skills in a vast number of areas, including digital and data."

The academy was originally set up by the Department for Work and Pensions in 2014 and was moved to GDS three years later. Its courses have covered the use of digital tools and methodologies.

Currently only three online courses are available through the website, on digital and agile bitesize basics, understanding users and their needs and an introduction to the Kanban framework for software development.
