Forestry and Land Scotland has agreed on a deal with Civica for the company to implement a new cloud platform for the management of its vehicle fleet, machinery and equipment.
It will use the Transend fleet management platform to ensure that all items are compliant with relevant regulations and well maintained, with the aim of reducing the number of breakdowns, minimising downtime and meeting health and safety standards set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
Civica said the software’s real time dashboards will provide employees with all necessary data and can be configured to ensure the availability of information on vehicle statuses, maintenance schedules and whole life vehicle costs.
Tommy Groat, head of mechanical engineering at Forestry Land Scotland, said: “With an extensive fleet of vehicles, machines and equipment operating across the whole of Scotland, it is imperative that we manage these assets optimally in order to deliver the best value for the public purse and to ensure that we meet all of our obligations as an SG agency.
“With TranSend we expect to achieve that and greatly improve and streamline our processes.”
Forestry Land Scotland, an agency of the Scottish Government, is responsible for managing the country’s national forests and land.
