Health Innovation East Midlands has selected five companies to further develop digital healthcare services as part of the region’s Digital Health Accelerator programme for this year.
It said it will provide bespoke support for the development their proposed solutions to deal with the issues of supporting self-care in the community, tackling waiting lists, and digital inclusion and accessibility.
Two of the companies are focusing their services on specific groups: JanamApp on culturally appropriate perinatal support for South Asian women, and SiSI Health providing self-service checks for hard-to-reach groups such as homeless people.
Tellmi is working on anonymous, pre-moderated and age banded mental health peer support for children and young people, and Strata Health is developing a directory of services and e-referral platform for interagency referrals.
Finally, Added Health is developing digital health and wellness coach for people living with long term conditions such as hypertension.
Rigorous process
Nick Hamilton, digital health navigator at Health Innovation East Midlands, said: “After a rigorous application process, involving a panel drawn from health systems across the region, we are looking forward to working with the 2024 cohort. Their solutions are ready to be implemented and have the potential to make a real difference to services and patients.”
Health Innovation Midlands is the innovation arm of the NHS is the region, one of 15 across England.
