The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is looking to step up its digital activities with an emphasis on cloud systems.
It has laid out plans for a procurement framework with a value of up to £150 million, to run from June of this year to May 2023, to support its technology programmes and projects, of which a transition to the cloud will be a major element.
The contract notice identifies three lots: design, build and run; programme management and resourcing; and specialist consultancy services, with an indication that suppliers can bid for more than one.
The FCA is currently running a major project to develop machine-readable regulatory reporting to handle the 500,000 plus regulatory reports it receives from companies each year.
Following a proof of concept project, it was reported by FT Adviser in October that that authority has seen there are likely benefits and plans to publish a technical paper on it in the first quarter of this year.
