The UK Government’s Evaluation Task Force has launched the Evaluation Registry website.

Placed on GOV.UK, the registry brings together all planned, ongoing, and complete evaluations of government policy into one online location.

The Evaluation Task Force – a joint Cabinet Office and HM Treasury team – said the registry provides key information on the programmes and policies that have been or will be evaluated across government, the methodological approaches used in these evaluations, and summaries of evaluation findings.

This is intended to support accountability in the public sector and provide a tool for understanding what works, contribute to evidence based reform and to share best practice.

Since April 2024, it has been mandatory for all central government departments to upload details of all existing evaluation plans and evaluation findings to the registry. By January of this year it included information on over 1,400 evaluations, and is used by the task force to monitor relevant activity of across government.

The public launch of the registry makes the information available to the members of the public in public view-only access.
